. Historically travel is an activity done since mankind exists on earth, people do pilgrim, hunt, and migrate. As time goes on the motivation make people travel not just for living, in Europe and America hand in hand the era of human right recognition and industry, labor need more times off as they worked excess previously, they did it. Travel was firstly needed just for living is now widen to plenty kinds of purpose such as recreation, pleasure, business, education, pilgrim, in the developed country traveling is on the top list of every family budget plan. The fact we can see more and more cruise line launch but still people stand in line, number of travelers skyrockets year to year. So in short we can not deny the truth that holiday is now man’s right, traveling is one of very basic people’s need.




Traveling can never go alone, this activity needs a lot of needs supply, travelers need transportation to mobile, need food, need to stay, need a recreation to have fun, or need anything that they need to achieve in traveling. Involving local to provide the services for the travelers, the whole activities as explained called tourism. Okay let us define the true meaning of tourism, based on R.G Soekadigjo written in his book title Anatomi Pariwisata “Tourism is an activity done by travelers that involves local to hold tours”. Tour it self means a travel to seek pleasure, fun, or specific experience with certain purpose. And these travelers called tourist, we now definitely understand the era of global beside information and technology also tourism is very wide activity touches every sector and done by most people.


Tourism is huge phenomena change the world era lately, connects people all over the world across the borders, culture, religion and races those. Empowering economically starting from the grass root up to elite. And even tourism able to create own culture, as we all know tourist’s culture called escapism. It is a culture allows tourists to form the way of life they love to as they seek the pleasure and intention, of course beyond the local culture surrounded. Because they are on vacation they intend to release them as free as possible away from hectic, routine, business what is so ever has stuck in specific circumstance, so either they try not to stick to any norm, tradition, rule wherever they are on vacation. Even as the tourists, to arrange everything on their vacation from start to the end they need assistance, here the chance for the service business to take a part. Then business in tourism is lifetime profitable.


Linking, matching all the supplies ( restaurant, hotel, tourist attraction) to transportation is the concrete form of service can be provided for the tourists, to organize it in tours package, reservation, ticketing service need an agent to do so. There the tours and travel agents come this chance caught by most people worldwide, almost everybody at the time started to run tours and travel business, before monetary crisis struck Indonesia, Tours and travel agents spread all over very quickly legal and even illegal like hundred of agents recorded in east java alone, in 1990’s somehow 1998 Indonesia was devastating to undergo the monetary crisis from 1998. Swept all business in every sectors included tours and travel sector, lots of agents collapsed. The only extremely brilliant idea can save this bankrupt, the best possible answer is partnership. Excellent example for the partnership is Accor with Novotel, Kondominium Graha Family with procon. Here the positions of Accor and Procon as the management institution in charge to implement the management in running business. Kondominium Graha Family and the Novotel as the owner seems like not in charge operationally however being the owner automatically they feel necessary to evaluate the business progress seen from the accounting and finance.
