AN ASSIGNMENT REPORT ON EXPORT IN PERUM PERHUTANI KBM INK UNIT II (part 2)

CHAPTER II


METHOD OF THE PROGRAM


2.1 Method of Program Execution

The writer got the apprenticeship from Mr. Bambang D.H, an expert in export-import term. He was a volunteer training export-import for young generation. He gave the writer course and offered an apprenticeship in Perum Perhutani which he had worked there before. The writer started the apprenticeship from February 16th 2009 until March 16th 2009. It was done at 07.30am until 01.00pm five days a week implicatly Monday up to Friday. The writer worked for apprenticeship in Perum Perhutani unit II KBM INK Jawa Timur particularly in shipping document division. During those times, the writer was given basic knowledge about export process and commodities supply for export.

Some phases that writer had to do to get place work for apprenticeship at Perum Perhutani KBM INK Surabaya East Java are Arrange the apprenticeship proposal, Apply the apprenticeship proposal to Perum Perhutani KBM INK Surabaya East Java.Mr. Besari as Personal Manager checked the apprenticeship.
Mr. Besari suggested the writer to go to Perhutani center and met Mrs. Amik to ask permission letter from Perhutani center that clarify the applier will do apprenticeship at Perum Perhutani KBM INK Surabaya.
The applier went to Perhutani Center in Genteng Kali to ask permission latter from Mrs Amik. The applier should come three times to get this permission letter because there was a meeting at that time. After getting permission latter to do Apprenticeship at Perum Perhutani the applier was suggested to meet Mrs. Susi at Perum Perhutani KBM INK Surabaya and gave this permission latter.
The writer went to Perum Perhutani KBM INK Surabaya to meet Mrs. Susi and gave the permission letter then Mrs. Susi will process the permission letter to general manager and the applier will be informed by Mrs. Susi if it has done. The applier called by Mrs. Susi to meet Mr. Adi Winarno as manager marketing and supply in perum Perhutani KBM INK Surabaya.
The applier came to the institution and met Mr. Adi Winarno, the applier was interviewed the same question as Mr. Besari asked. Then Mr. Adi asked when the Apprenticeship would be started? Finally, Mr. Adi gave the writer permission to do Apprenticeship in one month (16th February - 16th march).



2.2 Method of Data Collection

The writer used several techniques in order to collect the data. They were as follows:
1. Observation
Observation is a way to collect data by watching directly to the objects that are going to be observed. In this study, the writer observed directly from the writer’s involvement during the apprenticeship to know the company organization, working activities, and commodities.
2. Interview
Interview is a way to collect the data by asking direct question to an informant or an authority (an expert or a person who is capable and master of field). During the apprenticeship, the writer interviewed Mr. Suwardi as a head of Shipping Document Department. The writer made relevant question related to the topic and the company.
3. Documentation.
During the apprenticeship, the writer took many pictures and data. The writer was given several examples of important archives which were used in export term. Those pictures and data have helped the writer to arrange this report.


2.3 Method of Data Analysis

Research method is the most significant aspect in conducting a research. This study had used descriptive qualitative research which the descriptions gave explanation all of the condition in Perum Perhutani Unit II KBM INK Jawa Timur. In this case, the writer had described the activities in Perum Perhutani in detail.
Analysis data could be done in 4 steps: collecting data, reduction data, serving data and conclusion. The selection of source of literature was done effectively based by: the recent of abridge problem. After collecting data, analysis data were done by reducing those data like classifying thus the writer started write a paper. Then the data which related to lesson or matter that served with describing clearly in order to be easy to understand was the last step of conclusion.
